The Fiscal Year 2025 State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) is the final round of funding under a four-year initiative created through the Homeland Security Act of 2002, as amended by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Its purpose is to help state, local, and territorial (SLT) governments manage and reduce cybersecurity risks.
To receive funding, applicants must develop a Cybersecurity Plan, form a Cybersecurity Planning Committee, and propose specific projects aligned with SLCGP objectives. For FY 2025, grant applications must address at least one of the following:
1. Establish or revise governance structures and cybersecurity plans to enhance response capabilities and maintain operational continuity. 2. Assess and understand existing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and areas for improvement through continuous testing and evaluations. 3. Implement security measures appropriate to identified risks. 4. Train personnel in cybersecurity practices relevant to their roles.
